If you happen to be in Ghent one of these days months (seriously, you’ve got time), I have a tip for you! The city of Ghent has welcomed TRAVAK to town. What does this mean? The Brabantdam area, which is momentarily undergoing construction, has been transformed and will continue to do so for the next couple of months. Lots of creative people are displaying their art/crafts in windows and new shops have opened. The idea is to get more people to add this part of town to their daily route and since the concept is constantly changing I certainly advise you to do so!
I stopped by one of the new pop-up stores and let me tell you, this one’s a winner! Before today we (the people living in/near Ghent) were only able to shop here if we turned on our computer and went online. But if you’re like me, you know that’s not the same thing as actually seeing the items and being able to touch them, smell them, turn them around… So naturally when BLISS announced that they would open a pop-up shop in Ghent I was over the moon!
If you’re an interior lover, you may have heard of this one before. If not, let me introduce you to a store that you’ll wish you had known longer. BLISS presents itself as a nordic concept store. They specialise in Scandinavian inspired decoration items and children’s clothes, toys, you name it. The Nordic element can be found in the materials of most of the products: wood, marble, copper, etc. and I think by now you all know that those are the things I really like! They also stock a lot of typography (inspired) items and honestly, the store itself is simply gorgeous. I have to warn you.. I was unable to leave there empty handed and I’m pretty sure the same will be said for you if you follow my advice. However, I LOVE the new additions to my interior and I’m sure you will too. You’ll be seeing them soon btw. Now please, go there and buy stuff! x
Address: Brabantdam 56, 9000 Gent

UPDATE: BLISS is no longer just popping up, but has decided to take up permanent residence in Ghent! HOORAY!
