Three days in Venice

Way back in September, my parents invited my boyfriend and I to celebrate their anniversary in the city where they spent their honeymoon: Venice, Italy.

We spent our days taking the taxi boat from and to the hotel (we stayed at Hotel Excelsior), strolling through the city and literally getting lost in the maze of tiny streets.

It took a while for me to adjust – there’s just so many people, and I was pretty upset that they were screwing up every picture – but once I accepted the fact that I wasn’t going to get that perfect shot, I was able to truly enjoy the city.

Most of our time was spent in the heart of Venice (the streets around Piazza San Marco), but we also paid a quick visit to Murano. My favourite memory: the gondola ride! I’ve always wanted to do that!

Conclusion:
There’s people everywhere, so it can feel a bit crowded. But once you’ve accepted that it’s also really beautiful and yes, magical.
